Tanisi Tinisha Young nitisiyihkāson. I am status from Treaty 5 Territory but I was raised in the heart of Treaty 6 (Lloydminster AB/SK), I have always maintained a strong connection to my cultural heritage, which I incorporate into my daily life. Acting as a mentor for Indigenous youth in my community has been a significant part of my journey.
One of my passions lies in sharing my culture and knowledge with students of all ages. As a knowledge keeper, I take pleasure in passing down the teachings. It is my belief that Reconcili-action is essential for building a decolonized world, not only for my children but also for future generations to come.
To further contribute to the betterment of my people, I started Iskotêw Training. Through this endeavor, I strive to continue making positive differences in the lives of Indigenous individuals.

I grew up in Lloydminster and I have been on the fire department for over 13 years. In 2011 I went to Lakeland College Fire Etc. and obtained my NFPA 1001. Throughout my time in the Lloydminster Fire Department, I have obtained NFPA 1041 Fire Service Instructor and was involved in the internal training of the fire department. Over the last year I have sat on the Lloydminster youth council board as a steering committee member. I have a passion for training youth and working with young people to inspire them to be firefighters.
We are passionate about our community.
